Scientific Symposium: “AI Clubs and Education”
The College of Information Engineering, in collaboration with the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit, and with the participation of the Department of Automation and Artificial Intelligence Engineering, as well as the Rehabilitation Division at the Presidency of Al-Nahrain University, and in cooperation with the Office of the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Scientific, Academic, and AI Affairs, under the sponsorship of the President of Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Information Engineering, Prof. Dr. Hikmat Najm Abdullah, organized a **scientific symposium** entitled:
“AI Clubs and Education: Today’s Innovation for Building Tomorrow’s Leaders”
Held under the slogan:
“Together Towards Innovative Education for Future Generations”
The symposium featured lectures by:
- Prof. Dr. Diaa Al-Jumaili, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Scientific, Academic, and AI Affairs.
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Ammar Dawood Jassim, Head of the Computer Network Engineering Department, College of Information Engineering.
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Ammar Ibrahim Majid, Head of the Automation and AI Engineering Department, College of Information Engineering.
The event took place on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 10:30 AM in the Al-Salam Hall.
The symposium included:
- An introduction to robotics clubs and the registration process.
- Discussions on the importance of integrating and employing AI in education.
- Presentations of graduate and undergraduate projects in AI and automation disciplines.
The significance of the symposium was emphasized in the context of advancing education. The event was attended by:
- Political figures from the Prime Minister’s Office.
- Military representatives.
- Academic staff from various universities and colleges of Al-Nahrain University.
- Representatives from private sector companies.
- A large number of final-year undergraduate and graduate students, as well as alumni from various scientific departments.
