The College of Information Engineering held a symposium on Monday, 16/10/2023, titled “THE EMERGING OF INDUSTRIAL IOT AND 5G TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE, SECURE, AND SAFE COMMUNITIES.” This symposium was part of the joint cooperation with the Institute of Embedded Systems and Communications at the University of Offenburg in Germany, funded by the DAAD Cultural Exchange Organization. Professor Axel Sikora lectured on the developments of the industrial Internet of Things, followed by Dr. Nabil Ibrahim Sulaiman from the Ministry of Communications about the telecommunications infrastructure in Iraq.

The symposium also included a meeting with the Scientific Assistant to the President of Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Omar Farouq, who welcomed the delegation and discussed the mechanism of joint cooperation between the two universities in this field.
